The tree is located 1.1km from the hypo-center. It is a ring-cup oak in a backstreet of Nagasaki City's Aburagi-machi. Along with the Japanese chinquapin and sword-leaf litsea it is firmly rooted on a slope, and casts a broad canopy.
This ring-cup oak has hollows at its base and in its trunk, and is partly propped up by the adjacent sword-leaf litsea. Nonetheless, it maintains its vigor and produces acorns in the autumn.
